5 Things to Say Goodbye to Before 2017!

So tomorrow we wake up to 2017!

What are you doing today? the last day of 2016?

How do you say goodbye to 2016 and make sure you end on a high note? and no i'm not talking about where to go for the best fire works and what's the best champagne to celebrate with tonight. I'm not talking about the "outward" celebration - though i know we all are looking forward to it and we enjoy all that.

I'm talking about the "inward" celebration that goes on within each one of us. Because before we can be ready for the outward manifestation of what we dream for and have asked for this coming 2017, we need to be ready "inside". Let me explain further....

Are you expecting something NEW for 2017? I'm sure you're already planning out your best year yet and excited about all the possibilities!

I love this beautiful reminder:

"No one sews a patch of un shrunk cloth on an old garment. For the patch will pull away from the garment, and a worse tear will result. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, they pour NEW wine into NEW wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16 -17

Yes. So many things happen in the last day of the year.... i don't know about you, but i feel that there's so much emphasis on the outward celebration, and i get it! it's all good and i am in there with you all the way! we want to make it SPECIAL!

BUT please please don't forget to look within and really think about those things you can say GOODBYE to this year (2016) We would have to be ready to get rid of the old things if we want new things in our lives for the coming year! Get rid of the old to make way for the NEW!

So are you ready? Take some time out today from your busy schedule and have a think about these 5 things i believe we can do without come 2017!

What old mindsets have you got that you feel you can do without? We can have right mindsets that will benefit us or wrong mindsets that will hurt us and hinder our progress. Colossians 3:2 teaches us to set our minds and keep them set. We need our minds set in the right direction. Wrong mindsets not only affect our circumstances, but they also affect our inner life.

Take inventory of your attitude: I think one of the smartest things you can do is take a regular inventory of your attitude. For example, what kind of attitude do you have when you don’t get your way? Or when someone else gets what you want? Or when somebody tries to correct you? The Bible says that our trials bring out endurance, steadfastness and patience in us (see James 1:2-3). But the first things they generally bring out are impatience, jealousy and anger.

Thankfully, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we have everything we need to live above our emotions. You see, when we’re born again, God gives us all the fruit of the Spirit, including love, peace, patience and self-control. We just need to learn how to use them.

People who suck the life out of you with negative attitudes, constant complaining, gossip, selfishness, or extreme dependency are damaging your in a way that can cause depression and anxiety. You wouldn't hesitate to cut toxins out of your diet, nor would you think twice before removing toxic substances from areas where your children play..... time to set some boundaries. Boundaries are instrumental in maintaining your sanity and health. If people don’t respect your boundaries, they aren’t respecting you.

What is it that distracts you? Yes you do have a Vision, you have goals that you want to achieve and you are on your way there... but imagine if you are always getting distracted and its hindering you and slowing you down from getting there.... I believe this is the biggest hindrance to getting to our goals! when we get distracted by things that are really not in line with our Vision. so what is it? write down all the things that easily distracts and you say good bye! Might be a habit? a person? a new project? distractions come in many forms. Stay focused!

I think the reason why we have self pity is cos we spend so much time thinking about ME ME ME. don't get me wrong... it's ok to think about us in a self loving caring way. but when we start to think about us and focus on what we don't have... and we start to compare, then theres a problem. it leads to self pity. Take some time now to write down those things that are unique about you, and celebrate them! no one else can do what you do! Focus on what you have with full gratitude and you will discover you actually have more than what you think. you are so blessed!

Focus on helping and serving others!

Volunteering really helps you to put your life into perspective, and helps you to appreciate what you have more. Volunteering also boosts self-esteem, confidence and compassion.

Wishing you all the best for the New Years, and i pray you enter in with great joy, prepared and expectant for a BRAND SPANKING NEW YEAR!!!

Love, Fideliz x
